Mounts come in two versions, solid and collapsible. All work is custom designed to get the best fit for your telescope, all wood is cut via CNC router to assure uniformity and precise fit.

Solid Mounts:
Very stable using internal dominos to lock all boards together. Screws are also used to pull board together, assuring internal dominos are thoroughly seated. Wood glue used to finish the job.

Collapsible Mounts:
Ideal for storing in a closet or tight space in a garage. Very convenient fitting into a small car. Side boards, front board and bottom board of the rocker box are hinged together with heavy duty anodized aluminum piano hinge. Clamping knobs secure the boards tightly together. Entire mount "folds" down via the hinges, to a 5" height.

Clamshell Rings with Altitude Bearings:
Clamshell rings are custom designed to fit your telescope tube. The inside diameter is cut leaving 1/8" of space around your tube. We can supply adhesive backed felt 3/16" thickness at $2.50 per foot, or you can obtain adhesive backed felt pads at Home Depot to fit with the tension/tightness you desire. The clamshell rings have a hinge attaching the bottom board that join the rings. The top board have a 2-1/2"x1/4-20 thumb screw that secures through one board, and into a 1/4-20 threaded insert in the adjacent board. Bearings are cut to allow 1/16" space between their outer edge and the cutout in the mount. Bearing thickness is 3/4", with 5/8" as bearing surface (Teflon pads match), and a 1/8" wide lip on the outside - to prevent lateral slipping on the mount.

Finished mounts:
Solid or collapsible finished mounts arrive ready to use. Can be shipped to US and Canada.

All parts dry-fitted before shipping. Kits may be shipped worldwide.
