Our
first delivered Dobsonian height stand, shipped to JH in Iowa. He found
bending when viewing very uncomfortable and requested a stand to raise
the focuser height. We produced the design shown at left. He sent us
this photo and comments:
"Fit like a glove, firm and no wiggle. Gonna paint it black. Thanks

Custom built Dobsonian
mount stands raise your focuser position. A comfortable position at
the eyepiece lets you see more and observe longer.
Assembly: Easy with only 9 screws and 6 dowels.
Construction: 3/4" (18mm) birch plywood top and stabilizer boards
and legs. #12x1.25" stainless screws through predrilled countersunk
holes into corresponding pilot holes into stand legs, and 3/8"
dowels to lock attach top and stabilizer boards against lateral movement.
Your mount's feet sit securely in top board cutouts. Maximum height
20", ask for quote for taller stands.
All parts included. Kits are rough sanded with 80 grit. Finished orders
fine sanded and sealed with multiple coats with water resistant amber
polymer. Ships unassembled.
